IMG_9756As a lover of food, travel, and adventures, I’m experiencing the world as any 24-year-old should: by pursuing my passions and doing what I love in life. I moved to Birmingham, AL about two years ago for a job in the magazine publishing industry and fell in love with a city full of life and a job that I can’t get enough of. I’m always looking forย new experiences and adventures that I want to document and share, so that’s where this blog comes in. Whether I’m trying a new restaurant, experimenting with recipes, or taking a weekend trip somewhere,ย I want to be able to share these experiences with you and be a resource for you to plan your own adventure.

Where did the blog name come from?

“Among life’s precious jewels, genuine and rare, the one that we call friendship has worth beyond compare.”

I had been trying to figure out a name for this blog for a while, and then I remembered this quote and knew it would be a perfect fit. Many of my friends call me Jules, so I used it as a bit of a play on words to remind me that yes, “life is precious, Jules” and also that I should appreciate the precious jewels in life. And in my journey to figure out this crazy life, I’m discovering it with a supportive family and amazing friends by my side.

  1. @JuliaSayers Apr 14 – Ugh…I wish someone would send me a Sugarwish

TheSugarWishgirls graduate from #mergelane.com (one of the 1st Women Led Company accelerators) in Boulder next Friday. In dey honor, I am sending you…your “tweeted wish.” And because 95% of those that receive a SugarWish, turn ’round and share a SugarWish…we have to keep the CO karma rollin. You can either send me your email contact info or send it to the founder – Elizabeth@sugarwish.com. They will send your choices to fill in the box, you choose and they ship same day. Either way….its paid for.

SW travels down to NA (Northern AL) for a new fan. You might even be able to incorporate one of your sweet choices into (SugarWish Yes’mam DeeLights) a dessert recipe for your blog! It was 70 in Denver yesterday, 30 today and the snow has not stopped as yet, so you might have to blow a few flakes off your box upon receipt.
